  • We just finished restoring vision to 110 people living in blindness at our mission site.

Juan Carlos, blind from cataracts, left his village on a horse, rode to the bus station, and then took a cab to reach the place where we were performing surgeries—a seven-hour trip.

Unfortunately, he arrived three hours late. Distraught, he thought his surgery would be canceled. But when he arrived, he was met by a smiling team waiting for him. He became our last patient of the day.

He said he felt like he had won the lottery. “Why would anyone wait for me? Why would anyone care? No one ever has.”

Except that as God’s child, he has dignity, worth, and deserves respect.

In truth, we were the ones who won the lottery—to see his smiling face the next day, his vision restored. Better than winning the Powerball.

God allows us to be secondary causes in His divine providence, and we are so grateful.

Because of your love, support, and prayers, you all have shared in the joy of this mission.

    Blessings,
    Jim
