We held a clinic and performed surgery… both were inspirational, and God (once again) not only showed up but showed off!
We saw over 300 patients in the clinic and completed more than 30 laser procedures to help patients see better. Over 110 clinic patients were blinded by cataracts and will be scheduled for surgery during our next mission.
We also performed 75 vision-restoring cataract surgeries, and all of them were blessed and went beautifully.
During this mission, though, God’s providence also showed up in a different way.
On the first day of the surgical mission, while setting up, there was an unfortunate accident — we dented another person’s car. The man who owned the vehicle met us that day, and by God’s design, the very next day he experienced a sudden, vision-threatening retinal detachment that required emergency surgery. He sought us out at our mission site, was examined, surgery was performed, and his vision was saved!
And as a gift of gratitude to the mission, he immediately donated a much-needed piece of equipment to help future patients.
Coincidence… or God’s providence?
Yep — God showed up, and He showed off!
