We just completed our first mission of 2026!
70 blinded poor are now seeing, rejoicing, and praising God!
We also examined 430 patients, of whom 400 were blind from their cataracts and will have surgery in May and November 2026!
This mission presented challenges of workflow, teamwork, and coming together to serve above and beyond what we had known before. In the end, our Mexican team rose to the challenges and provided an absolutely great OR experience and better surgical results.
The challenges bound us together, made us stronger, and served our patients better. It reminded me of Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s often-quoted words:
“We are all kin, but we’ve forgotten that we are…
Without kinship, there is no justice. Without kinship, there is no peace. Without kinship, there is no joy.
It is in kinship you create a community that God might recognize.”
